TREASURER

My career with TSA started in Nov. 2002 at Newark Airport. Previously, I worked for the USPS and was a member of the Mail handlers union and was very involved with union activity. I was picked to attend a Working Women's Convention in Washington DC with the guest speaker being Hillary Clinton and began to work on improving conditions for working women at my facility.

When I came to TSA I immediately joined AFGE and have been a member of Local 1 since 2003. I became an activist right away and started lobbying to ensure TSO's have the same rights and protections as other federal agencies. I was part of a live press conference with National President John Gage and AJ Castillo, Local President of Boston Airport back in 2004, attended legislative conferences and spoke on behalf of struggles TSO's are faced with everyday with numerous senators. Upon creation of Local 2222 I transferred from Local 1. In 2008 I became a shop steward for EWR and soon was asked to become part of the executive board as secretary. I have traveled to all airports in our local organizing and listening to the voices of all our members. Currently I have changed positions from Secretary to Treasurer of Local 2222 Executive Board. I look forward to continuing our goals, to build a strong, powerful local and ensure a fair and safe workplace for all of us. Remember united we stand, divided we fall.
